Betty Jean Williams

Mrs. Betty Jean Lawing Williams, 77, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joyce Miles will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Williams was born on July 13, 1935 in Kannapolis. She is a daughter of the late Ray Lawing and Ida Mae Goodnight Lawing. She retired from the weave room at Cannon Mills after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Fred Williams; brother, Billy Ray Lawing; and a great grandson, Zachary Clifton Horne.

Mrs. Williams is survived by three daughters, Vonnie Davis and husband Jesse, of China Grove, Shirley Wallace and Gilda Hall, both of Kannapolis; sister, Mary Ann Adams of Landis; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
