Mrs. Betty Jean Rogers, 82, of Kannapolis, entered her Heavenly Home Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Salisbury, after years of declining health.
A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastors Roger Wood and Steve Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rogers was born March 30, 1940 in Kannapolis. She was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Bessie Tilley of Kannapolis. She attended A.L. Brown High School. In 1957, she married the love of her life, William K. Rogers. They were married for 65 years and raised four children. Employed by Cannon Mills, later known as Fieldcrest, she worked in the sheet department for 39 years. After working for Cannon Mills, she earned her CNA-I and CNA-II certifications from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. She worked as a home health nursing assistant for Bayada Nursing and also cared for private clients. A long-time and faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church, she served in children's ministry and participated in Women's Missionary Fellowship. She enjoyed making and decorating cakes and going shopping. Betty also loved to sing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kezzie Rae Stutts; brothers, Ray Tilley and Albert Tilley; son-in-law, Walter Thomas "Tom" Correll, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William Kenneth Rogers; her four children, David Rogers and wife Carolyn of Concord, Danny Rogers and wife Sandy of Crest Hill, IL, Dwayne Rogers and wife Nancy of Mooresville, and Judy Correll of Salisbury; grandchildren, Christopher Rogers, Lindsey Rogers, Joshua Rogers, Brittany Wetzel, Courtney Rogers, Amanda Rogers, William Correll, Kelly Correll, and Andrew Correll; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
