Billy Eugene Carter

Mr. Billy Eugene Carter, 82, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System - NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, November 20, 2016, at North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Rev. Chris O'Guin will officiate. Interment is scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm Sunday at North Kannapolis Baptist Church.

Mr. Carter was born July 10, 1934 in Rowan County to the late George Issac Carter and Nellie Sifford Carter. He graduated from China Grove High School in 1953. Bill served in the US Army in Germany and also during the Cuban Crisis. He later went into the Army Reserves. He was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church where he served on the Building and Grounds Committee for many years. Having overseen the building of McMurray Hall, he was a superintendent for Red Brookshire Masonry in Tampa, FL and also worked for Liles Construction Company in Concord.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Carter; daughter, Sherri Leigh Beck; granddaughter, Morgan Mae Beck; grandson, Larry Eugene Beck; and brother, Mayford Carter, all of Rockwell.
