Billy Howard Lefler

Mr. Billy Howard Lefler, 75, of Concord, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Roberta Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Pennington will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home. Born December 26, 1933 in Cabarrus County, Mr. Lefler was the son of the late Lewis Oscar Lefler and Evie Allene Hatley Lefler. He retired from the sewing room of Cannon Mills, following 50 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Lefler was a member of Roberta Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Belle Linker Lefler, on February 9, 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Kim Lefler Cox and husband Clint, Cindy Lefler Layton and husband Ryan, all of Concord; three brothers, Sam Lefler of Concord, Doug Lefler and Lewis "Whitey" Lefler, both of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Jason Rahme, Victoria Layton and Brandon Hamilton, all of Concord, Jeremy Russell of Oklahoma; and one great-grandchild, Landen Russell.
