Mr. Billy Ray Poole, 71, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, at his home in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Thomas Allen will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Billy was born September 13, 1953 in Concord. He was a son of the late Dorris Eugene Poole and Frances Lillian Brown Poole. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. In is earlier years Billy was in the Ocean as much as on land learning about the ocean life. As he got older he loved to share his life experiences with his Children and his Grandchildren. He loved to teach his grandchildren about Marine life, dinosaurs, cars, and anything they wanted to learn about. He loved to Shoot Pool and Play Poker with his buddies. His love for life and the way he loved to make people smile was his passion. Welder/Fabrication was his trade. Most of which he did at Fuchs in Salisbury. When Fuchs shut down he went to Freightliner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ziegler and a brother, Johnny Poole.
Billy is survived by his wife, Mary Estelle Poole; four children, Byron Poole and wife Jessi of Kannapolis, Shawn Poole of Morganton, Angelia Allen and Husband Thomas, Jessica Poole and husband Jeremy, both of Lexington; two brothers, Jerry Poole and wife Linda of Seneca, SC and Terry Poole of Florida; sister, Donna McCall and Husband Frank of Kannapolis; and 12 grandchildren, Jesslynn Taylor Poole, Alexa Rae Poole, Dalton Alexander Poole, Jayda Raye Poole, Destini Lilliana Poole, Charles Carter Allen, Grayson Connor Allen, Jamari Eliseo Garcia, Jameson Wyatt Allen, Byron Marvin-Ray Poole, Micah Steelle Allen and Faelyn Asta Renee Garcia.
