Mr. Billy Eugene Watts, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at his home peacefully surrounded by his family.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Rev. Tim Brown and Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am prior to the service.

Billy was born May 1, 1947 in Concord, NC. He was a son of the late Lester Watts and Mary Eloise Christy Watts. He was a faithful member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church.

Billy was a proud graduate of AL Brown. With the need for speed, he spent time drag racing for over 40 years. He loved his big block Chevy's. Bill was a motivated business man, with the knowledge to change with the times and make it work while having fun. He carried his need for speed into the business with Racing Champions, importing, distributing and designing many cars for production, as well as his own BWC blue '55 Chevy drag car.

Bill had a great knowledge of precious metals, stones and coins. He loved helping people with their collections & teaching them all about their coins. Alongside his associate Jimmy Coon for many years, his daughter and granddaughter - his legacy will be carried on through his business of over 36 years at Bill Watts Collectibles.

Bill lived out his dreams of traveling to many places and had amazing adventures from California to Oak Island, where he and Delores built their vacation homes. They spent many days and weeks with their children, grandchildren, friends and family. He loved having friends and family there to enjoy & make precious memories that will live on forever.

Pawpaw Bill loved his grandchildren and great granddaughters! He is so proud of each of them. He will be remembered for his kind heart & need to help people.

Billy will be greeted in Heaven by his wife, Delores Watts, precious daughter, Kelly Rae Watts, and his beloved parents.

Mr. Watts is survived by his daughter, April Beach and husband Randy of Kannapolis, NC, sister, Bonnie Goodnight and husband Bill of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Blake Beach and wife Bailey, Bradley Beach, and Miranda McClamrock and husband Patrick; five great-grandchildren, Kymber, Kailey, Caroline, Tilly and Ivy; step-daughter, Ginger Collins and husband DJ; and three step-grandchildren, Nathan, Naomi and Jacob Price, and his sweet kitty Tippy Toe who will still be begging for her 'Sheba' and water from the sink.
