Bob Hurley Deese

Mr. Bob Hurley Deese, 88, a resident of Universal Healthcare in Concord, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Universal Healthcare. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2004, at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. The Rev. Stan Welch will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at their respective homes. Born August 27, 1915, in Union County, he was a son of the late John Scarborough Deese and Emma Estelle Treadway Deese. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a carpenter for R.D. Efird Construction Company in Kannapolis and later worked for Fieldcrest Cannon. He was a member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Perry Deese, who died in March of 1999. Survivors include five sons, Bobby K. Deese and Billy D. Deese, both of Kannapolis, Roger V. Deese, Sr. of Richmond, VA, Rickard K. Deese of Mooresville and Michael L. Deese of Laurel Springs, NC; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
