Bobby Lee Haithcock

Bobby Lee Haithcock, 93, formerly of Kannapolis, NC passed away on Saturday, June 1st at Foothills Retirement Community in Easley, SC. Bobby was born on August 7, 1930 in Kannapolis, NC to the late James Earl and Mamie Lee Haithcock.

He attended Kannapolis City Schools prior to receiving his high school diploma from Central Wesleyan College Academy in Central, SC. He served the US Army in Japan during the Korean conflict before working for Cannon Mills and completing his business education from Kings Business College in Charlotte, NC. He later worked many years for Sealtest Foods in Charlotte and Kraft Foods in Chicago.

Bobby was a lifelong member of the First Wesleyan Church of Kannapolis where he served as treasurer, board member, Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and a male gospel quartet. He also served the denomination at the state and national levels in various roles. He loved being with people at any opportunity, from church, to the workplace, and the golf course. His sense of humor and legendary patience were among his many beloved qualities.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by two brothers (Harold and Edgar).

Bobby is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Janice Munday Haithcock, his children, Michael Haithcock (Ann Arbor, MI) and Sherry Haithcock (Six Mile, SC); grandchildren, Virginia Vietti (husband Mathew, Dallas, Texas) and Aaron Haithcock (Lansing, MI); and his great-grandchildren, Matelyn and Benjamin Vietti.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at Foothills Retirement Community, 205 Bud Nalley Drive, Easley, SC 29642. A time of fellowship will be held at Foothills after the service. Burial will occur at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 7th at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to First Wesleyan Church of Kannapolis at 301 Bethpage Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or Pickens View Wesleyan Church at 744 Bethlehem Ridge Rd, Pickens, SC 29671.
