Bobby G. Phelps, Sr.

Mr. Bobby G. "Bob" Phelps, Sr., 74, of Concord, died Saturday, October 1, 2005, at the Brian Center of Concord. A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2005, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Grady Lomax will officiate. Military graveside rites will be conducted by DAV Chapter 27 of Concord. Born February 21, 1931, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Gilbert Phelps and Vertie Cline Phelps. He was a retired car salesman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Munday Phelps; a son, Bobby Gene Phelps, Jr.; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include a daughter, Kim Clay of Kannapolis; two sons, Tim Phelps of Concord and Ed Phelps of Kannapolis; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association of North Carolina, 5315 Greenbrook Drive, Charlotte, NC 28205-6521.
