Bobby Ray Thompson

Mr. Bobby Ray Thompson, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2022, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Salisbury.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, August 13, 2022, at God's Church of Faith. Rev. Jeff Upright will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Saturday at God's Church of Faith.

Mr. Thompson was born March 18, 1937 in Kannapolis, NC. He was a son of the late Willie Thompson and Violet Buff Thompson. He was a charter member of God's Church of Faith and served as the congregational song director for many years. Bobby played guitar and both wrote and sang many beautiful songs with his beloved wife and daughters. He faithfully taught the Sunday School class and served on the executive board of directors at the church.

Bobby's constant faith and love for God was very evident to all who witnessed his faithful service to the Lord and His Kingdom. Our loss is Heaven's gain!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Kay Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by three daughters, Pamela Mishak and husband Wayne of Salisbury, Cindy Poole and husband Tim of Lexington and Beverly Mozeley and husband Mark of Mooresville; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
