Mr. Bounna Keoonla, 71, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Atrium Health Union in Monroe.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Bounna was born December 8, 1954 in Laos. He was a son of the late Khamdang Keoonla and Chan Khamthavong Keoonla.Bounna has been apart of the Laos community in Kannapolis for almost thirty years. His unique attitude to take life as it comes is what makes Bounna endearing to his family and friends.Bounna was a caring man, he never knew a stranger and he would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His favorite hobbies where spending time with his children and grandchildren. Also his favorite past time was playing card games with friends. His legacy will not be lost and not forgotten.

Bounna is survived by his wife, Bualai Norasing Keoonla; three children, Duangmala Patel, Vansay Keoonla, and Douangta Keoonla; sister, Laiga Keoboonheuang; four grandchildren, Mileena V. Garcia, Milania A. Patel, Grayson B. Patel, and Alaia B. Holloway; and one great grandchild, Averi S. Philavong.
