Boyd Franklin Pittman, Sr.

Mr. Boyd Franklin Pittman, Sr., 72, of 600 West Blume Street, Landis, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tom Lomax will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born December 12, 1933, in Chesterfield County, SC, he was the son of the late Sidney Dillon Pittman and Babe Demby Pittman. He was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Nichols;a son, Thomas Lee Helms, two sisters, Ruth Jenkins and Betty Cox; and a brother, Cleave Pittman. Survivors include his wife, Guynell Sexton Pittman; three daughters, Denise Raines of Ellerbe, Barbara Lloyd of Cheraw, SC and Jackie Huffman of Landis; three sons, Boyd F. "Frankie" Pittman, Jr. of Salisbury, Billy Joe "Helms" Pittman of Norwood and Larry Wayne Pittman of Ellerbe; five sisters, Geneva Rivers, Margie Smith and Joyce Lord, all of Kannapolis, Beulah Clinton of Blacksburg, SC and Carolyn Seagraves of China Grove; one brother, Roy Pittman of Kannapolis; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
