Bruce Franklin Wilson

Mr. Bruce Franklin Wilson, 84, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Piedmont Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Pethel and Rev. Michael Edwards will officiate. Entombment with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Piedmont Baptist Church.

Mr. Wilson was born May 29, 1931 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late George Jordan Wilson and Nellie Hamilton Wilson. He retired from Duke Energy in 1989 where he worked at the McGuire Nuclear Station. He was a member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church where he was the Chairman of the Deacons. He enjoyed years of motorcycle riding and mowing yards for other people. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Korea War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Seabolt Wilson; three sisters and one brother.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his daughter, Dianne Brideson of New Bern; son, Randy Wilson and wife Annette of China Grove; three sisters, Joyce Sloat of Lexington, Jeanette Byerly of Thomasville and Nila Faye Karriker of Cornelius; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
