Mr. Buck Morrison Troutman, 84, of 112 Springway Drive, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, January 6, 2008, at First Assembly Worship Center in Concord where he was a member and served as an usher and greeter for over 20 years. Rev. Forest Jones will officiate. The body will lie in-state at the church from 1:30 - 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Mr. Troutman. Mr. Troutman was born April 17, 1923 in Cabarrus, NC. He was the son of the late James Troutman and Nora McSwain Troutman. He retired from Cannon Mills where he was a supervisor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Troutman, in November 1999; and a brother, Leonard Troutman. Mr. Troutman is survived by daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Jeff of Kannapolis; son, Jerry Troutman and wife Linda of Concord; sister, Margaret Burleson of Kannapolis; special companion, Ruth Rabon of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly Seniors Ministries, 150 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28027.
