Mr. Buford Randolph "��Doc"�� Hyde, 78, of Kannapolis, went to be with his heavenly father Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the Tucker Hospice House. Mr. Hyde was surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Hyde was born April 30, 1934, in Madison County, GA, a son of the late James Elmer Hyde and Jewell Burt Hardeman Hyde.
Mr. Hyde attended J.W. Cannon High School and was a 21 year career sailor in the United States Navy. Following his retirement from the Navy, he retired from Fieldcrest Cannon after 26 years of service. He was a member of West Corinth Baptist Church, and loved his three dogs, Prissy, Cricket and Taco.
Mr. Hyde was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Hyde.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Martin Hyde; brother, Bethel Hyde and sister, Bonnie Hyde Lisk both of Kannapolis; brother, James �Jimmy� Elmer Hyde Jr. and wife Ann of Charlotte; daughter, Denise Hyde Gourley and husband Troy of Northpole, AK; daughter, Sandy Hyde Moore and husband David of China Grove; son, Jimmy Hyde and wife Shelia of Sherrills Ford; step-daughter, Sylvia Bennett and husband Marvin of Concord; step-daughter, Sabrina Parker and husband Danny of Salisbury; step-daughter, Susan Barr and husband Ray of South Carolina; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren
Visitation Hours will be 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Lady�s Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at West Corinth Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Suttles, pastor.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Tucker Hospice House for their care and support.
