Burton Elwood Medford

Mr. Burton Elwood Medford, 78, a resident of Big Elm Retirement Center in Kannapolis and formerly of Mooresville, died Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. Born October 17, 1931 in Cabarrus County, Mr. Medford was the son of the late James "Jim" Medford and Alpha Medford. He retired from Ronson Hydraulics in Charlotte. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include a daughter, Judy M. Poteat and husband Pat of Kannapolis; son, Dwayne Medford and wife Mary Ann of Marietta, Georgia; sister, Louise McGee; and five grandchildren, Monica Poteat, Melissa Poteat, Ryan Medford, Billy Justineau and Trey Justineau. A private service will be held at a later date.
