Carl Alexander Measmer

Mr. Carl Alexander Measmer, 79, went to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, August 18, 2014, at his home.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Steve Ayers will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Thursday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Measmer was born on January 1, 1935 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Fred Alexander Measmer and Cary Dennis Measmer. Mr. Measmer retired from the US Air Force after 21 years of service as a Supervisor of jet mechanics in Vietnam. Carl later retired from the Cabarrus Health Alliance after 25 years of service where he was an Environmental Health Supervisor. He was a member of McGill Baptist Church. Mr. Measmer loved his children and grandchildren deeply and will be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred M. Watts, Leola Measmer and Ella Hammett; and seven brothers, Grady, Robert, Henry, Harold, Lester, Raymond and Clarence Measmer; and a grandson, Isaac Measmer.

Mr. Measmer is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Jean Eudy Measmer; daughter, Teresa Anne Eudy and husband, Johnnie of Concord; son, Jeff Measmer of Concord; three grandchildren, Travis Daniel Eudy and wife Rebecca, Joshua Dale Eudy and Angela Pierce and husband Brandon; four great grandchildren, Silas, Ezra and Malachi Pierce and Selah Eudy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
