Carl Glenn Scarborough

Mr. Carl Glenn Scarborough, 88, of 465 Miller Road, China Grove, died Sunday, November 30, 2003, at Brian Center in Mooresville, NC. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born May 5, 1915, in Ila, Georgia, he was a son of the late Forest Glenn Scarborough and Elizabeth S. Scarborough. He retired with 22 years of service from General Motors Corporation in Flint, Michigan. Mr. Scarborough was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy and the US Army. His wife, Mary Yates Scarborough, preceded him in death on July 28, 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Cooper of LaVergne, Tennessee and Shirley Kelly and her husband, Ken, of Royston, Georgia; two sons, Glenn Scarborough and his wife, Carol, of Caledonia, Mississippi and Charles Scarborough and his wife, Brenda, of China Grove; three sisters, Christine Malcolm of China Grove, Clara Sue Dillon of Kannapolis and Catherine McManus of Comer, Georgia; a half-brother, Julian Gurley of Hull, Georgia; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
