Carol Irene Jones

Mrs. Carol Irene Pennell Mann Jones, 69, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, at CHS - NorthEast in Concord after a period of declining health.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dean Hunter will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jones was born May 20, 1947 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Fred Allen Pennell and Louise Johnson Pennell. She graduated from South Rowan High School, Class of 1965, and Evans Business College in Concord. She was a secretary for various departments in state government and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, William Gene Mann and Houston “Bud” Jones.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Gina Jones of the home; sister, Kay Hallman of Kannapolis; two nephews, Greg Hallman and wife Melody and Scott Hallman and wife Anita; niece, Karen Wilson and husband Ralph; two uncles, Phil Johnson and Ben Johnson; aunt, Kathryn Bowman; one great nephew and six great nieces; and also a number of cousins.

Memorials may be sent to the family to help with expenses.
