Mrs. Carolyn Wright Turnmire, 71, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center Northeast.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, December 16, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Walter Turnmire and Rev. Daryl Aistrop will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday before the service.
Mrs. Turnmire was born April 21, 1942 to the late George Jacob Wright and the late Wincie Gillion Wright. The following was written by her children. Our mother was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was loved by everyone and we were blessed to have her in our lives. Above all else, she sought to find the good in everyone. She was an eternal optimist, daughter of the Most High King, loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who loved all of her children and family. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Melvin Junior Turnmire of Kannapolis, two sons Melvin James Turnmire and wife Brenda of AZ and George Dewey Turnmire and fiancee Amanda of Rutherfordton; four daughters, Tamara Bouknight and husband Jackie of Rockwell, Kathy Therrell and husband Tony of Kannapolis, Betsy Harris and husband Mike of Mooresville, and Dee Ann Turnmire and fiancé Larry Hancock of Kannapolis; three brothers, John Wright of San Antonio, TX, David Eugene Wright of Kannapolis, and Darrell Wayne Wright of Spanoway, WA; sister Joyce Wilson of Kannapolis; her loving companion Christmas Joybelle, 22 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
