Carrie Poteat Fleming

Mrs. Carrie Poteat Fleming, 82, of 110 Crescent Street, Kannapolis, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Rick Durham of Hospice of Cabarrus County will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born May 17, 1922, in Mt. Ulla, she was a daughter of the late Guy Alonzo Poteat and Mary Weddington Poteat. She was retired from Hoechst Celanese Corporation in Salisbury and was a former teacher's aide. She also traveled extensively in the United States as a photographer with Jones and Presnell Studios. She was a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Tony Taylor Fleming of China Grove; three grandchildren, Gaye Louvee Wood of Mt. Pleasant, Craig James Fleming of China Grove and David Randall Fleming of Salisbury; and three great-grandchildren.
