Mrs. Cary Smith Russell, 52, of Concord, entered into the resurrection peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, September 16, 2016, following a brief illness.

She was a longtime resident of Huntington, WV, born July 7, 1964 to the late Leslie David Smith, Jr. and Sue Cary Smith. Cary is survived by her husband of 26 years, Scott Russell; daughters, Kayla Russell and Alison Russell Boothe and husband Evan, all of Concord; and her brother, Leslie David Smith, III of Alexandria, VA.

Cary is a graduate of Marshall University’s Class of 1986 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Her professional career was spent entirely in her chosen field, currently employed by Siemans USA as a Technical Software Support Engineer.

Anyone who knew Cary will remember her warm smile, kind heart, and genuine love for others. She was the light of the world and a blessing to so many people. Her family and her faith were the center of her life. The love of her dogs, Kali and Emma Sue, gave her unending joy.
