Cecil Lee Perry

Mr. Cecil Lee Perry, age 78, of Melbourne Drive, died Monday, December 7,2009 at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury. Funeral Services for Mr. Perry will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Bethpage United Methodist Church, Kannapolis. The Rev. Jeff Coppley and Rev. Duane Melton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at the church prior to the service on Thursday. Mr. Perry was born in Marshville, NC on March 26, 1931, a son of Marshall Wayne Perry and Carrie Bryant Perry. He was a US Air Force veteran. Cecil retired from Gates Rubber Company and later owned and operated Perry's Nursery and Landscaping in Kannapolis after which he retired from driving a truck having worked with Alcoa of Salisbury and CCM of Concord. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Thomas W. Perry. Survivors include his wife, Kay Reavis Perry, a daughter Karen R. Perry of Clemmons, NC; two brothers, Ralph Perry of N. Augusta, SC and Ben Perry of Kannapolis; two sisters, Nell Cashion and Ruby Montgomery, both of Kannapolis.
