Charles E. Edwards

Charles Edward Edwards, 74, of Kannapolis, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at CMC� NorthEast. Mr. Edwards, a loving father and grandfather who also loved his church family dearly, was born on August 29, 1934 in Darlington, SC. He was the son of the late Britt Edwards and Nettie Davis Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Virginia Cross Edwards, who died June, 1996; a son, Donald C. Edwards; and a brother, Bobby Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of Victory Temple where his funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Posey and the Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will lie in state from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence, 2006 Angela Lane, Kannapolis. Surviving are one son, Billy Joe Edwards of Kannapolis; a daughter, Faye Edwards Bacon of Kannapolis, six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
