Charles Edgar Haithcock

Mr. Charles Edgar "Ed" Haithcock, 84, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011, at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at First Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis. Pastor James Matchette and Rev. Randy Haithcock will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am Tuesday at First Wesleyan Church. Mr. Haithcock was born September 7, 1927 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late James Earl Haithcock and Mamie Lee Haithcock. He graduated from J.W. Cannon High School. He retired from Winn-Dixie with over 50 years of service as a store manager including the Kannapolis store and a store in Sumter, SC. Ed enjoyed fishing and was a member of First Wesleyan Church. Ed was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Jordan Haithcock. Mr. Haithcock is survived by two sons, Ron Haithcock and wife Susan of High Point and Charles Haithcock of Kannapolis; two brothers, Harold Haithcock of Asheboro and Bob Haithcock of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Kaura Africa, Kimberly McMurphy, Micah Haithcock and Trent Haithcock; and four great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Wesleyan Church, 301 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
