Mr. Charles Gordon Sechler, 78 of 1702 Brook Avenue, Kannapolis, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. The Rev. Richard Rhoades and Dr. Hoke Ritchie will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Sechler was born May 1, 1928 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Harry Andrew Sechler and Pearl Furr Sechler. He was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Facilities Management at NorthEast Medical Center after 29 years employment. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hooper Sechler; a son Bill Sechler and his wife, Lynda, of Rockwell; a daughter, Tammy S. Kilby and husband,Tom, of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Robert Hill, Jennifer Ridgell and husband, Chris, and Kaitlyn Kilby; three great-grandchildren, Britny Hill, Landon Ridgell and Kamden Ridgell. Memorials for Mr. Sechler may be made to Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, 101 Vance Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
