Charles Frank Simril

Mr. Charles Frank Simril, 83, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at his home.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Neal Jones will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Simril was born January 31, 1934 in Charlotte, NC. He was a son of the late Robert Simril and Ima Carter Simril. He owned and operated Foxfire Lanes for many years. He attended Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member East Gate Lodge 692 AF & AM. He was also a veteran of the US Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Rose S. Huneycutt, Gene Beach, Billie Bass and Jacqueline Honeycutt; and two brothers, Robert and Claude Simril.

Mr. Simril is survived by his wife, Doris Rudisill Simril; daughter, Carla Jo Monnich and husband Theodore of Salisbury; son, Dan McLane Simril and wife Beth of Gold Hill, NC; sister, Joan Simril Taft of Matthews; seven grandchildren, Sara, Aaron, Jessica, Laura, Taylor, Charles and Philip; and seven great grandchildren, Allyssa, Eve, Sebastian, Gannon, Fionn, Rue and Avett.
