Mr. Charles Worth Stimson, 68, of 900 Polo Avenue, Kannapolis, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at First Assembly Worship Center in Concord. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Sam Farina and Dr. Dale Tanner will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 PM Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born April 3, 1934, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late James Worth Stimson and the late Idell Smith Stimson. Mr. Stimson was a purchasing agent for Bico, Incorporated in Charlotte. He was an active member of First Assembly of God in Concord. He was a former member of the Concord Optimist Club and Full Gospel Businessmen. For many years he was active in lay witness renewal with the United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bentley Stimson; a daughter, Lisa Stimson Cobb of Kannapolis; and one granddaughter, Rebecca Blair Jones of Kannapolis.
