Mr. Charles Max White, 73, of 2002 West C Street, Kannapolis, died Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Five Oaks Manor in Concord. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tim McQueen will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home of his son, Scott White, 2000 West C Street, Kannapolis. Born October 5, 1934 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Spurgeon White and Libby Tate White. Mr. White retired from White Hill Home Improvement. He was a former radio and television announcer and also worked for Bost Bakery for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. A member of West Point Baptist Church, he remained strong in his faith throughout his illness. Mr. White was especially proud that the White Hill community was named after his family. His mother formerly owned and operated the White Spot Cafe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Wayne White. He will be loved and missed by his family which includes four daughters, Judy Felton of Kernersville, Sheree Williams and husband Kris of Kernersville, Vicki Thomlinson and husband Brent of Manteo, and Dawn White of Denver; one son, Scott White and wife Christine of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Lindsey, Summer, Josh and Brandon; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jayden. Also left to cherish his memory is a special friend and caregiver for the past five years, Effie Cecil.
