Chucky Rex Helms

Mr. Chucky "Chuck" Rex Helms, 60, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, in Kannapolis.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Karl Fisher will officiate. The service will be live streamed at www.ladysfuneralhome.com/live.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Helms was born April 13, 1962 in Oakboro. He was a son of the late Lloyd Rayvon Helms and Edith Rushing Harrington. Chuck was an avid gardener. He loved fishing and enjoyed vacationing at the beach and the mountains. Chuck also had a soft spot for children and dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Allan Helms.

Mr. Helms is survived by his wife, Debra "Debbie" Dawn Shipman Helms; daughter, Ashlyn "Nikki" Helms-Cope and wife Jennifer of Mocksville; two sisters, Sherry Barbee and husband Steve and Debbie Little and husband Mike, both of Oakboro; brother, Danny Helms and wife Terri of Monroe; granddaughters, Jocelyn Shipman and Lacey Shipman, whom loved their PawPaw; numerous nieces and nephews; and canine companion Kojo.
