Clara Emma Goodman

Mrs. Clara Emma Talbert Goodman, 85, previously of Concord, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Westminster Assisted Living in Decatur, AL.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. B. Scott Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 12:00 pm Thursday at Lady’s Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mrs. Goodman was born on March 30, 1929 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Tom Talbert and Lottie Brown Talbert. She worked as an accountant for UNC-Charlotte. Mrs. Goodman was a member of Pitts Baptist Church and greatly enjoyed working in the children’s department and singing in the choir. Due to declining health, she moved to Decatur, AL eight years ago to be close to her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryce Lindy Goodman; five sisters, Helen Fink, Naomi Troutman, Margaret Love, Annie Talbert and Lois Sanders; brother, Bill Talbert; and niece, Dawn Roland.

Mrs. Goodman is survived by her daughter, Dawn G. Terry and husband, Rex, of Decatur, AL; two grandsons, Mason Terry of Decatur, AL and Madison Terry and wife, Angela, of Gardendale, AL; and sister, Betty Graves, of Concord.
