Clara Donahue Kidd, 69, of 6550 Plyler Road, Kannapolis, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at Autumn Care of Salisbury, following a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2007, at Solid Rock Worship Center, 3000 Centergrove Road, Kannapolis. The Rev. Raymond Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Monday at Solid Rock Worship Center. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Phyllis Miller, 6744 Plyler Road, Kannapolis. Born March 31, 1938 in Chesterfield, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Wilson Donahue and Eula Collins Donahue. She was retired from the No. 1 Weave Room of Pillowtex, Plant One. She attended Solid Rock Worship Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Mitchell; one brother, Roy Donahue; a sister, Azalee Donahue; and a granddaughter, Angela Miller Safrit. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Miller and husband, Jimmy Miller of Kannapolis; two sons, Tony Mitchell and Jeffrey Wayne Kidd, both of the home; two sisters, Betty Bynum and Joyce Teague, both of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Megan Mitchell and Steven Cress; and one great-grandchild, Rachel Safrit. Memorials may be sent to Solid Rock Worship Center, 3000 Centergrove Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
