Mrs. Clodesser Swancey Bishop, 90, of 2276 Holly Springs Parkway, Canton, Georgia, died Friday, August 8, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tim Jernigan will officiate. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday at Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton, Georgia with the Rev. George Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis and from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Monday at Sosebee Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Edith Zucker, 2203 Brantley Road, Kannapolis. Born August 10, 1912, in Cherokee County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Robert Swancey and the late Martha Ann Woods Swancey. She retired several years ago from Canton Cotton Mills where she was employed for 40 years. Mrs. Bishop was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton, Georgia. Her husband, Hulan L. Bishop, preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Edith B. Zucker and her husband, Fred, of Kannapolis; three sisters, Cleo Richardson of Canton, Georgia, Margaret Fricks of Woodstock, Georgia, Julia Fricks of Austell, Georgia; three grandchildren, Stephen F. Zucker of Canton, Georgia, Sharon Renee Zucker of Asheville, Phillip T. Zucker of Wilmington; and a great-granddaughter, Adrienne Brown of Asheville.
