Mrs. Cloria Elsie Lyles, 88, of 4920 Highway 152 East, Rockwell, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kannapolis. Mr. Bill Fulcher will officiate. Interment will be Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. At other times they will be at the residence. Born May 20, 1917, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Chaney Green Hatley and Lillie Almond Hatley. She retired in 1987 from the winding department of China Grove Cotton Mill. She was a member of the Kannapolis Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Doc" Gregory Lyles, Sr., who died in 1974; a son, Carl Eugene Lyles; brothers, Cletus, Clester, Charlie, Raymond and Enee Hatley; and a sister, Mae Lee. Survivors include six sons, Zane Lyles of Supply, Jack Lyles of the home, Floyd Gregory Lyles, Jr. of the Landis, Ted R. Lyles of China Grove, Glenn Lyles of Kannapolis and Clyde Lee Lyles of Rockwell; three sisters, Cora Belle Barnhardt of Kannapolis, Carrie Linker of Mt. Pleasant, Ruby Foster of Concord; a brother, Coy Hatley of Millingport; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 811 Delane Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
