Mrs. Colleen Michele Pratt, 64, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at her home in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:15 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pratt was born November 25, 1961 in the Bahamas. She was a daughter of the late Eugene Pratt and Lillian Bowleg. She was a beautiful, devoted widow, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. Her impact on everyone she came in contact with was like no other.

Colleen was a caregiver coming into the United States in the 1990s. She worked as an in home daycare provider in the early 2000s, where she took care of individuals' babies just like they were her own, until it was time for them to move into grade school. She was a licensed cosmetologist in North Carolina, as well as New Jersey, where she worked in beauty shops and did independent, in home services. She was always willing to do anyone's hair when in need. Mrs. Pratt also cleaned homes for a living, where she had loyal clients in both NC and NJ that she grew close bonds with. She had the honor to serve as caregiver to two of those clients until God called them home.

Colleen served as a leader in her church and volunteered at her oldest grandson's elementary school, whom she was always known to have with her everywhere she went in the community. She also volunteered at local food banks and fed the homeless throughout Concord and Kannapolis. She spent time volunteering for the Amateur Athletic Union track meets and other sporting events in her community. She loved to watch her daughters and grandkids, compete in sports she loved, such as track, softball, volleyball, and basketball. She never missed any of her kid's events and was always found sitting front row.

Mrs. Pratt was always one phone call away for anyone in her life, encouraging praying and giving advice to anyone she came in contact with. She was a beautiful soul to experience. Her love was patient, forgiving, caring, and most importantly, unconditional. She was the person who would stick by your side when you felt like nobody understood you and was always there for you.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron McCoy.

Colleen is survived by two daughters, Serena Pratt and husband Reggie of Kannapolis and Millicent McCoy and husband Christian of Charlotte; two grandsons, Joshua McNair and Jeremy Pratt; one granddaughter, Raelynn McCoy-Ealey; 15 siblings, Prince Bannister (Delveta), Nathaniel Porter (Joan), Enid McDonald (Kenneth), Lenette Scott (Sharadd), Sherika Culmer, Terry Pratt (Reese), Sandra Pratt, Marva Pratt, Dion Pratt, Adrienne Pratt Saunders (Bishop Kermit Eugene Saunders), Elwood Gibson (Ami), Cora Gibson, Wilhemena Gibson, Andrew Gibson (Marcia); four aunts, Irish, Jennie, Inzelet, and Alice (Wellington); three uncles, Hilton (Janet), Jeffrey, and Elvis; 34 nieces and nephews, Natazia, Natisha, Natoya, Khantel, Brittney (Jarod), Braneka, Latonya, Latrece (Godfrey), Brielle (Dalfrey) Marlee-Bay, Keara, Sharae, Bradley, Brandon, Nathaniel Jr., Johnathan, Tyrone, Brandt, Armani, Lamona, Kendra, Lashanta, Clifton, Lesllin, Amia, Amon, Ezari, Anthiniqueko, Crystle, Leo, Javen, Andrew, Jamari, and Grace; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; in-laws, Leroy and Germaine McCoy (both deceased), Raymond (deceased) and Deloris McCoy, Marcia Holmes Porter, Charles Holmes (Annetta), Millicent McCoy (deceased), Eric McCoy and Sheree (deceased), and Darryl McCoy; great friends and classmates, Dawn Bryant (William), Zenobia L.
