Connie Lee Kazee Nelson

Our mother, Mrs. Connie Lee Kazee Nelson, 70, went to be with our father, Michael E. Nelson, Sr., in Heaven Friday, August 6, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, August 9, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wade Easom will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The funeral will be live streamed at www.ladysfuneralhome.com/live.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nelson was born October 29, 1950 in Ashland, KY, she was a true Wildcat fan. She was a daughter of the late James Owen Kazee, Jr. and Virginia Henry Kazee. A devout Christian, wife and mother to more than her three children, she was loved by so many. Mrs. Nelson never met a stranger and loved Living Water Church of God, where she was a member, and her church family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Marshia Kazee.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by two daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Lea Funderburk and Belinda Hathcock and husband Jeffery, both of China Grove; son, Michael E. Nelson, Jr. and wife Brandi of Kannapolis; two sisters, Judy Gentner of Ketering, OH and Pamela Tolliver of Garrison, KY; brother, James Michael Kazee of Greenup, KY; seven grandchildren, Stevie, Jerry, Austin, Amber, Jarrid, Kali and Cecily; and 15 great grand jewels that she loved more, no start overs!
