Mr. Coy "Jack" Bostic, Sr., 83, of 815 S. Ridge Avenue, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006, at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Max Smith, and his brother-in-law, Roy Dabbs will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born November 22, 1922, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Frank L. Bostic and Lillie McQueen Bostic. He retired several years ago from K-Town Furniture. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. His family will remember him as the best dad, father-in-law, paw-paw and great-paw-paw any family could ever have. He was also a good neighbor who enjoyed walking, gardening, Braves baseball, and Wonder football. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Dabbs Bostic; son, Johnny Wayne Bostic; grandson, Jeremy Bostic; and a great-grandson, Adrian Harrell. Survivors include three daughters, Jewel "Sue" Smith and husband Ted, Brenda Allen and husband Jerry, Teresa Hileman and husband, David, all of Kannapolis; two sons, Coy Jack Bostic, Jr. and wife Philda, of Kannapolis and Jerry E. Bostic and wife June, of Concord; two sisters, Mildred Corl and Ruby Hinson, both of Concord; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Dixon, Denise Dixon, Dana Harrell, Dena Farlow and husband Jim, Ashley Bostic, Tara Smith, Tonya Smith, Gina Brown and husband Chad, Paul Hileman and Andrew Hileman; and five great-grandchildren, Jenna Hilton, Brett Hilton, Zachary Brown, Alex Harrell and Michael Olguin. Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
