Danny Franklin Powell

Mr. Danny Franklin Powell, 68, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016, at his residence in Salisbury, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2016, at Lady’s Funeral Home.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband, a wonderful father and the best grandfather a child could ask for. Mr. Powell was born January 29, 1948 in Starke, FL. He was a son of the late Thomas Daniel Powell and Viola Simpson Powell. He worked in Industrial HVAC and Refrigeration for over 30 years.

Danny was fond of camping, cooking and early Saturday morning cleaning. This was a requirement for anyone who stayed over the night before (sorry Jaime, Kathy, Michelle and Jennifer). When the music came on, it was time for the cleaning “party” to begin, as he would call it.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Carol Powell Brown. Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Patty Sutton Powell; two daughters, Felicia P Wallgren of Osseo, MN and Stephanie P Wright of Faith, NC; two sisters, JoAnn Rowe of Lexington, NC and Bonnie Woodie of El Paso, TX; two brothers, Jimmy Powell of Rockwell, NC and Jerry Kirk of Lexington, NC; and three grandchildren, Connor Maloney, Blake Wright and Kyler Wallgren.
