Darrell Horace Ballard

Mr. Darrell Horace Ballard, 89, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Ballard was born February 24, 1932 in Lincoln County. He was a son of the late Horace Winslow Ballard and Ethel Mae Burke Ballard. He was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church. Darrell was an Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War. He retired from UNIVAC in Charlotte.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Henley Ballard; three sons, Rodney Galen Ballard, Darrell Stephen Ballard and Charles Anthony Ballard; and a brother, Keith Ballard.

He is survived by a son, Tommy Ballard and wife Susan of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Janet Ballard of Charlotte; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ballard of Charlotte and Rebekah Ballard of Boone; sister, Helen Turner and husband Columbus of North Wilkesboro; and two brothers, Harold Ballard of Charlotte and Dwight Ballard of Gastonia.
