Mr. David Wayne Sloop, 70, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at his home in Salisbury.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randy Flemming will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.

David was born November 2, 1955 in Concord. He was a son of the late Earl Jr. Sloop and Margaret Elizabeth Faulkenberry Sloop. He retired in March 2024 from the Rowan Housing Authority where he worked in maintenance. He attended Hope Chapel in Kannapolis. David was an avid golfer, car enthusiast, a great musician. He loved to fish and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ronnie McClamrock.

David is survived by his wife Cynthia Hines Sloop; daughter, Wendy Cook (Jeremy) of China Grove; two sons, Ronald Sloop (Rebekah) of China Grove and Chad Ludwick (Tara) of Cleveland; sister, Janice McClamrock of Kannapolis; brother, Gene Sloop (Jane) of Kannapolis; six grandchildren, Kaylee Sloop, Skylar Spillman, Jasmin Rodriguez, Ally Cook, Gage Ludwick and Cole Ludwick; and three great grandchildren, Sully Spillman, Jaycelynn Rodriguez and Jayla Rodriguez.
