Delores Heath Watts

December 29, 1950 — June 30, 2024

Delores Heath Watts, 73, of Kannapolis passed away on June 30, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Delores was born on December 29, 1950 in High Point, NC. She was one of five children of Troy Heath, Sr. and Mary Winifred Heath. Delores attended A.L. Brown School and worked at Cannon Mills until she was able to start her own business. She owned and operated A & G Sales where she loved being self-employed allowing her to spend time with her family. She was an amazing mother and raised two daughters, who love her deeply. She married her love, Bill Watts, on October 30, 1994.

Bill and Delores built their home together and lived out all their dreams. They traveled to many places and had amazing adventures together. They built their own vacation home in Oak Island, NC. They have spent countless moments at their beach home with their children, grandchildren, friends and family. These are precious memories that will live on forever. Delores loved to cook and was great at it. We will cherish so many amazing memories gathered around her table. Another of Delores' passions was fishing. She loved to fish! Fishing in her pond, at the beach, or on a boat - these were definitely some of her happiest moments.

In addition to her parents, Delores was predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Fortson of Kannapolis and her oldest daughter, Angela Price of Kannapolis. The loss of her daughter was the toughest moment of her life and we take joy in knowing that they have been reunited.

Delores is survived by her husband, Bill Watts, of the home, her daughter, Ginger (DJ) Collins of Charlotte, and grandchildren, Jacob Price of Mt. Pleasant and Nathan and Naomi Collins of Charlotte. In addition, she is survived by her sister Heather (Melvin) Pope of Norwood and brothers Troy (Debbie) Heath of Kannapolis and Robert Heath (Kay) of China Grove, her step-daughter April (Randy) Beach of Kannapolis, step-grandchildren Blake (Bailey) Beach of China Grove, Bradley Beach of Landis and Miranda (Patrick) McClamrock of Kannapolis, and step great grandchildren, Kymber, Caroline, Kailey, Tilly and Ivy.

The family will receive friends at North Kannapolis Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 12:00-1:45pm. The service will immediately follow in the church at 2:00 pm. The burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Delores was an advocate for breast cancer research and children's charities. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Baptist Children's Home of NC, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361-9911.
