Dennis Melvin Lester

Mr. Dennis Melvin Lester, 66, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his residence.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Grigg will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Lester was born November 1, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH. He was the son of the late Dewey Lester and Vestine Bryant Lester. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. After his retirement, he worked for Schneider Trucking in Charlotte and later Teeberry. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing and old cars.

Mr. Lester is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Wooldridge Lester; daughter, Crystal Lester of Kannapolis; son, Dennis Lester and fiancée Lauren Liverman of Kannapolis; and three grandchildren, Atticus, Carter and Marlie, whom he cherished.
