Donna Beatty Burney

Mrs. Donna Beatty Burney, 63, of Kannapolis died on Monday, January 24, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord A celebration of her life will be held at Garr Memorial Church, 7700 Wallace Road, Charlotte on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 3:00 P M with Pastor Steve Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church, prior to the service. Mrs. Burney was born May 14, 1947 in Charlotte, NC and was a daughter of Irene Elder Beatty Lefler of Charlotte and the late John Price Beatty. She was a homemaker and a foster parent for Bethany Christian Services. She graduated from Garringer High School in 1966 and was a member of Garr Memorial Church. Mrs. Burney, in addition to her mother, is survived by her husband, Glenn Burney; daughter, Emily Lois Burney of Kannapolis; son , David Michael Burney of Mt. Gilead; sister, Charlotte Wiriden of Charlotte and grandson, Jonathan Burney of Kannapolis. The family request that memorials, in lieu of flowers, be directed to the charity or organization of the donor's choice in memory of Mrs. Burney.
