Desiree Stephens
To the family of Dora Hancock Epperson,
My name is Desiree Stephens and I am one of Jehovah?s Witnesses. I am writing because I heard about the loss of your dear loved one, and wanted to offer my deepest sympathy and some words of comfort to your family from God?s word the bible. ( 2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
We all can agree that it is so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone that we love, and when it happens, the thought of never being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your loved one again can be most difficult to bear. Ironically, for some that pain is not necessarily erased by being told that their loved one is up in heaven.
Did you know that God?s word the bible holds out a much different hope? The bible at John 5:28, 29 tells us that it is possible to be reunited with your loved one in the near future, not in some unknown heaven, but right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. In addition, during that time humans will have the prospect of enjoying perfect health, and they will never have to worry about dying again. Surely, you may be saying like so many others that this is just wishful thinking, which is understandable. So, in order for you to have real confidence in such promises, you first need to know the answers to some basic questions: Why do people die? Where are the dead? And how can we be sure they can live again?
If you would like to learn what the bible says in answer to these questions please feel free to contact me via email at your earliest convenience or you can contact anyone of Jehovah?s Witnesses in your local area. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Once again your family has my deepest sympathy.
