Doris Neff Butterfield

Doris N. Butterfield, 92, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, following eight years of declining health. She was born on March 2, 1916 to Clinton and Isabel Neff in Northampton, Mass. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years, Roy S. Butterfield, who passed away in November, 1991. Mrs. Butterfield had made Charlotte her home for over 60 years and was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Office of the American Red Cross. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis with the Rev. J. Ed Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Pagemont Drive, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Butterfield is survived by her son, Roy S. Butterfield, II and wife Gerene of Cherryville; grandchildren, Steve Butterfield and wife Lori of Taylorsville and Veronica Hiley and husband Tad of Matthews; and six great-grandchildren.
