Doris Richardson Henderson

Mrs. Doris Richardson Henderson, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Morningside (formerly Dogwood Forest) of Alpharetta in Alpharetta, GA.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Bethpage United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Portis will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 pm Saturday, at the Bethpage Fellowship Hall.

Mrs. Henderson was born June 30, 1925 in Union County. She was a daughter of the late Luther Thomas Richardson and Lula Deese Richardson. She was an active member of Bethpage United Methodist Church for 35+ years. She retired in 1983 after 30 years at Delmar Printing Company where she was a Production Control Manager. After finding retirement unfulfilling, she decided to return to work in the healthcare industry as a Nurse's Assistant for several years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar "Edd" Edward Henderson; sister, Lois Richardson; and three brothers, Thermon Richardson, Luther "Junior" Richardson and Johnnie Richardson.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by her daughter, Karen Young and husband Kenneth of Alpharetta, GA; and granddaughter, Kristen Svarstad and husband Eric and great grandson, Troy Payne all of Norcross, GA; brother, Glenn Richardson and wife Ruby, and brother Aundra Richardson and wife Jatanna all of Kannapolis.
