Doris Jean Knowles Young

Mrs. Doris Jean Knowles Young, 88, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Avante at Concord in Concord.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, June 26, 2017, at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. David Parrish will officiate. Interment will follow at the cemetery.
Mrs. Young was born October 23, 1928 in Mecklenburg County. She was a daughter of the late Mary Bonnie Knowles. She worked for Cannon Mills as a weaver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Martin Young.
Mrs. Young is survived by sister, Mary Jo Upright of Kannapolis; special neice, Malia Foil and husband Mike; and special nephew, Ken Upright.
