Mrs. Doris Watts Parks, 69, of 130 Parks Field Drive, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2005, at Bethpage Presbyterian Church. Dr. Steve Mowery and the Rev. Amy Busiek will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born August 7, 1936 in Mooresville, she was the daughter of the late Ralph T. Watts and Ethel White Watts. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Glenn Parks, who died July 4, 1987. Survivors include her husband, Kermit G. Parks; and five step-brothers, Coy Wilhelm, Hugh Wilhelm, Charles Wilhelm, Wayne Wilhelm and Paul Wilhelm, all of Salisbury. Memorials may be sent to Bethpage Presbyterian Church, Cemetery Fund, 6020 Mooresville Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081. "During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I Carried You."
