Dorothy Cavin Bowen

Mrs. Dorothy Cavin Bowen, 72, of 905 Oakwood Avenue, Kannapolis, died Sunday, April 23, 2006. A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chuck Overcash will officiate. The family is making headquarters at the home. Born July 27, 1933, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Banks Cavin and Bessie Mae Cagle Cavin. She formerly worked for Cannon Mills and Fun-Tees and in her early years was a waitress for Howard Johnson's in Concord. She was a member of Concord Lake Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lewis Donaldson, who died in 1989; and a brother, Ballard Cavin of Kannapolis. Survivors include her husband, Cole Bowen; a daughter, Paula Hall of Murphy; three sisters, Eleanor Smith of Baltimore, Maryland, Edith Adams and Annie Wilhite, both of Kannapolis; four brothers, Jim Cavin, Wade Cavin and Gene Cavin, all of Kannapolis and Charles Cavin of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Sherry Stallings and William Allen Hall, both of China Grove; and six great-grandchildren, Courtney D. Hall, Stephen Stallings, Morgan Gentle, Madison Gentle, Abby Hall and Savannah Hall, all of China Grove. Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
