Dorothy Jearlean Gales Keziah Burleyson

Mrs. Dorothy Jearlean "Jerri" Gales Keziah Burleyson, 73, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at her residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Shoemake will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2:00 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Burleyson was born September 29, 1937 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Ralph Owen Gales and Helen Scercy Gales. She worked for Cannon Mills in the Sewing Room as an inspector and retired from the Fabric Printing Dept. as a screen technician. She attended First Baptist Church of Enochville and grew up in Temple Baptist Church, where her father was the Minister of Music until his death. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise G. Grey. Mrs. Burleyson is survived by her daughter, Sherry Allman and husband, Michael of Kannapolis; two sons, Kenny Keziah and wife, Jatana of Milton, FL and Ricky Keziah and wife, Melanie of Kannapolis; sister, Mary G. Dixon of Matthews; the father of her children, David Kenneth Keziah, Sr. of Milton, FL; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
